Brian Schwieterman grew up in Dayton, Ohio after spending his first 8 years on military bases in Pensacola Florida, Guam, & Rota Spain. He always dreamed of being a “hands-on” Architect. His career began with a commercial design-build firm in Vandalia, Ohio after graduating in 2000 from the college of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors of Architecture Degree. Brian spent several quarters of co-op with Edge & Tinney Architects (1996-1997) and Bon Builder’s, Inc. (1997-1998). While in college, Brian took an interest in Southwest Architecture, which led him to taking a 3 month travel course to study the way the early American settlers constructed and organized their “homes”. This hands-on course opened the door to many alternative ways to create architecture that directly responds to the surrounding environment.
Prior to joining Brian Gernetzke to start WiFIVE design + build, Inc. in 2009, Brian spent seven years at McConnell & Ewing Architects, Inc. as a project architect. In addition to project architect responsibilities, he headed up the monthly invoice process for all projects as well as the organization of the standard office systems. Brian’s project architect portfolio includes residences like a rustic Lake Charlevoix vacation home, 4-story detached garage structure in Charleston, WV, a contemporary custom home in Indiana, and a 5400 s.f. vacation home in the Greenbrier Sporting Club in West Virginia.
Brian lives in Tipp City with his wife Amanda and their daughter Emma.
